Cordless power tools can be expensive. The big question for a great deal of construction workers right down to the back yard mechanic and even the husband fixing the deck in your back yard, Is a cordless tool worth it? This makes me wonder, to myself of course, did the people who first bought the Panasonic cordless phones wonder and worry about the same questions. Now I don't even own a phone that the handset and base are connected except for charging.
The first question for example is how long does the battery last? Most major cordless power tools come with at least one extra battery pack with the option of buying even more. Then there is the option that Makita cordless drill power pack can be changed with the Makita cordless screwdriver, so you get even more power without tripping over the cord or trying to find somewhere to plug it into. So to me this would be a no brainer, obviously you may loose a little power but it is more than made up for with the convenience.
After I came to this conclusion I started looking around my home for all the other battery operated items that we own. This included everything from the cordless keyboard and cordless mouse hooked to the computer for comfort to the cordless headset we use for talking on the phone while cooking dinner or doing dishes. And lets not forget the cordless headset that go with the DVD player in the truck that makes travel with kids so much easier. Lets face it, cordless is the way to go.
