All men and women have common dreams. Unfortunately it’s not so easy to put their dreams into common words. Men and women tend to communicate in different ways that’s why it never seems like they are on common ground. And frequently their ways of communication are the causes of misunderstandings within the relationship. Most relationships start off on the right foot and start with common dreams and ideas but because of the inability to communicate in a meaningful way those dreams become lost in the relationship. Some of the symptoms of miscommunication are the lack of attention from your partner, never feeling like discussions or arguments have been resolved satisfactorily, resentment against your partner. All of this could be resolved by seeking therapy but instead some people turn to their religion in order to make up for the inadequacies in their marriage. In some cases this helps but in others it’s like throwing a blanket over a messy bed. It looks all right on top but when you remove the blanket all you have is a messy bed. Instead of taking refuge in the common book of prayer, or in other symbols like the bald eagle couples should seek true help and let a therapist show them a way that they can truly communicate with each other.
