Have you ever noticed that by adding the word classic we tend to give certain things a certain cache or maybe these items were already special so we gave them a classic name? When reading the classified ads, don’t the classic cars for sale ads tend to jump out at you more? I always want to read them first even though I know I’m not really going to buy a classic auto. I always catch myself going through the classic trucks web sites marveling at all the work people put into these vehicles, not to mention in the muscle cars for sale. Why would you put so much work into a vehicle and then sell it? It doesn’t seem to me that they make that much of a profit out of it. Maybe they just enjoyed the process of making it a classic. Is it the same pride and enjoyment that people get out of classic books. Do people actually enjoy shopping for old classic books? I guess so, if there are entire book stores that are dedicated to classic books. How about classic movie, I guess I am to blame here because I do enjoy collecting classic movies and classic films, especially the turner classic movies. I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to these oldies but goodies and yes, I guess they are very special to me. For me it’s as if I were an art collector without spending the amount of money that I would have to if I collected art. So I guess people who collect cars have the same type of feeling and I guess it’s the same for the nerds that collect all types of classic arcade games. I guess we all have our small pleasures in life.
