I remember watching the intellectual kids playing the grand master chess games while in school and I always wanted to be like them, but between all my other activities I never really had the time to sit down and truly learn the game. I kind of felt I was wasting my time by sitting so long for periods of time. I felt like I could and should be doing other things like homework.
Chess games used to be the game for intellectuals but now anyone can become a good chess player with all the on line games, and the computer chess games available. It is now possible to download chess games and play at different levels. In fact the chess for beginners usually comes with some type of tutorial or recommended moves and the same games explain the recommended moves. Some of the downloadable games are free chess games and others incur a small fee. Chess is a game that like other strategy games needs to be practiced in order to be good at it, but there are many ways to practice you can even practice with the new pocket pc games, and take your chess games with you and play any where you go.
