The first step to becoming a chef is to attend a culinary school. The second step is in deciding what kind of chef you wish to become, a pastry chef, a banquet chef, a fine cuisine chef, a catering chef, specialty chef etc. It’s a good choice for someone with a sweet tooth to take his chef training towards becoming a pastry chef.

All the chefs will be wearing a white jacket, pants and an apron. Normally the chef distinguishes himself with a different coat. The chef has a nice tall hat, normally made of light white paper. As an apprentice chef you will need some basic chef's knifes such as a 10-inch chef knife, paring knife, bread knife, fish knife, and many little tools for preparing intricate decorations. In culinary school you will be told that to become a chef is an art because you will need to add love, passion and originality to your ingredients.
