The company was founded in Hong Kong by Phillipe Charriol, a French entrepreneur. It later relocated its headquarters to Geneva. Charriol was founded in 1983 ,when Phillippe Charriol decided to launch he company all across the Americas, Asia and Europe. At that time, he was already in Hong Kong making investments on wine. In 1989, Phillipe Charriol would go on to later open the first Charriol boutique in Geneva followed by three others in Hong Kong. In 2008, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary.
