Sometimes my mind wanders as to the connotations of certain words for example: We all know the definition of the word bridge. Another example of bridge structure would be a suspension bridge that is used to cross rivers or creeks. But we also have other meanings and connotations for the word bridge, which are not as easily defined or translated. I mean we all now what a bridge is or what a bridge design is, or what a bridge builder does. I’m sure most architects have learned the necessary techniques and can explain how to build a bridge. But once I tried to explain to my language students what the card game bridge was, and I could not believe how difficult it was. They could never figure out what a bridge had to do with the card game. Who decided to call the card game a bridge game or who decided to name an Ethernet connection a wireless Ethernet bridge. How about the expression bridging the gap when talking about communication between different generations. Its amazing how many English expressions have been invented by using simple nouns such as bridge.Where did these expressions come from and why do we use a bridge to refer to them.
What does a bridge have to do with these things for example a dental bridge how does this item refer to a bridge wouldn’t it be easier to just refer to them as false teeth. But then again maybe I just wonder about silly things.

This very small bridge is for pedestrian only... and they seem to hang on a locker there to seal their love... as it happends in Rome to "Ponte Milvio"
