There can’t be – one sometimes thinks at these days – anyone who doesn’t know what softwares are. But, believe it or not, there are still people that, despite using softwares every day (almost all our diary activities occur now thanks to the intermediation of different kinds of softwares, which have been created to deaden work in our industries and other sorts of social productive behaviors) don’t realize – they just don’t become aware of it – that even an “old-style phone-call” needs the intervention of the softwares technology.
Not to blame, of course; actually nobody should be impelled to know about softwares nowadays, when that ‘knowledge intensive’ science & technology human activity has become as wide as other ancient areas of human knowledge and science, perhaps even wider, if you recognize the speed at which that industry grows.
Nevertheless, people that don’t know anything about ‘technology’ – let’s use that word just like that, but be aware of how vast its meaning is – are slowly beginning to get in touch with the machines, that are likely to gather mechanics, electronics and software programming in products dedicated to all kind of consumers. The future, they say, may be virtual. As a matter of fact, there are some scientists pretty sure that your intelligence, your soul, yourself, could be ‘uploaded’ – like a software, why not?, is brain information... – into a computer. That would be a strange way of living forever...
