Ever read a bible story to your child? Promoting reading for our children has become important and there are many new and wonderful types of books for children. But in the search for new reading material for children I think we have left out the basic children’s bible stories. Maybe we have stopped reading them to our children because they have become too stale and boring. I think though that children’s bible stories are just as important as reading the new children’s stories because bible stories for kids are full of parables and moral teachings like in the example of the easter story from the bible. Stories in the bible teach our children how to behave and to how to be moral human beings. Bible stories for children’s make the characters in the bible come alive for children and therefore they are able to relate to people in history like Moses, or Abraham. These people then become real to children and not just a historical figure. They are stories that children remember throughout their life and can pass down to their own children. These types of stories help children relate to the bible old testament and as they grow older they can better understand the true Old Testament stories. Bible stories for kids help them to relate to god and these same stories make god real for our children and at the same time help us to remember our faith and let us share that faith with our children. Is there anything more important that we can share with our children?
