She was a Star right from the beginning. When she was 12 she was trained to dance & chosen to perform in the chorus line of a 20th Century Fox musical, "Let's Go Places". She spent most of the 1930's dancing & singing in various chorus lines, bit parts, & whatever she could get. Then she obtained stardom with her role in "Du Barry Was A Lady", a Broadway Musical of 1939.
Grable starred in "Down Argentine Way" & the rest is history! Betty Grable was well known for her beauty & her beautiful legs! The studios publicized her slender body & legs as much as they could & she appeared in many Pin up Girl posters. Grable was one of the most celebrated pin up girls throughout World War 11.
"Tin Pan Alley", "Moon Over Miami", more musicals that she starred in. One of her last films was "How To Marry A Millionaire" & Marilyn Monroe got the top billing. Hollywood had found a new golden girl!

Betty Grable was a movie star with a lot to give. She was born December 18, 1916, with the gift of singing & dancing. Acting was another plus & she gave back to the public much more than she received. A real person & a great movie star from the 1940's & 1950's. She died July 3, 1973. She will never be forgotten.
