The Bentley Arnage, or Bentley as it’s affectionately known, is a luxury car produced by Bentley Motor Car in Crewe, England. The Bentley Arnage and its Rolls-Royce branded sibling, the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998 and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980. Another break from the past was to be found under the bonnet, for decades home to the same 6.75 L V*, a power plant which could trace its roots back to the 1950’s. The new Arnage was to be powered by a BMW V*, with Cosworth engineered twin turbo installation and the Seraph was to employ a BMW V12.
In 2005, the Arnage Convertible, also known as the Bentley Sports Car and the Arnage Drophead Coupe, was shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show with rave reviews. In April 2005, Bentley confirmed that the model would be produced at Crew for Spring 2006 sales and sales for that year were phenomenal. Bently Cars also confirmed the new model will adopt the Azure tag, replacing the previous Azure as the company’s large four seat convertible with very favorable reviews!
The Bentley 4.5 Litre is a British sports car built by Bentley Motor cars. Its supercharged variant is also known as the Blower Bentley. Famous for his statement “there’s no replacement for displacement”, Walter Owen Bentley upped the displacement of the Bentley 3 Litre in 1926 to produce the 4 ½ Litre. Upon taking control of the company, the “Bentley Boys” went in search of even more power and developed the supercharged model in 1929 at Henry Birkin’s racing workshops in Welwyn Garden City.
If you are looking for used Bentley cars, Yahoo! Autos seems to have an stately collection of them for sale. Prices are all over the board and depending on how old the vehicle and how much work may be needed, you can find one that will fit your budget. Bentley cars seem to have a very particular following, so finding a used one in good or great condition should not be difficult.
Other Bentley cars for sale can also be found online. For new Bentley cars, be prepared to spend at least $250,000 US Dollars. I have no doubt that the money is well spent on a Bentley. Bentley dealerships seem to be a little difficult to find and you will probably have to consult your local BMW dealer regarding ownership of a Bentley or a Bentley car dealer. When you find your perfect Bentley, don’t forget to take me for a ride! Happy Driving!
