Bell helicopter is an American helicopter located in Fort Worth, Texas. It manufactures military helicopters and tiltrotor products in and around Fort Worth. It also manufactures commercial rotorcraft in Quebec; Canada.It also provides training services throughout the world. It was formed in 1935 by Lawrence Dell Bell in Buffalo, New York. At first the company focused in building military fighter aircraft. In 1941 Dell started producing helicopters when he hired Arthur .M.Young who was very talented inventor to provide the necessary skills to build a helicopter.
In this way Bell hoped that he would not have to depend on government contracts. Textron purchased Bell Aerospace in 1960.Bell aerospace was composed of three divisions with the helicopter division being the most successful especially with the onslaught of Vietnam War. Today bell helicopter has a close relationship with Augusta Westland. It dates back to separate manufacturing and technology agreements.
