Not to be confused with the car VW Beetle, The Beatles were an extremely popular British Rock/Pop band in the 1960s. Songs by The Beatles are known throughout the entire world, and have influenced many of today's artists.
The band was composed of four members: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and Paul McCartney.
Some of The Beatles most popular albums include The Beatles White Album, and The Beatles Abbey Road. Almost everyone who grew up in the 1960s in America owns or has owned one of these albums, as they sold millions of copies.
The band split up in 1969, as John Lennon wanted to pursue a solo career. He was later assassinated in 1980. George Harrison later passed away from cancer in 2001. Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are still alive. McCartney was recently in the tabloids over his highly publicized divorce with his second wife. Ringo Starr has not been mentioned in the news since George Harrison's death.
The Beatles will always be seen as rock legends, and will continue to influence artist long after their deaths.
