When a person or company can no longer pay its creditors he declares bankrupcy. He has to find out how to file for bankruptcy and do it as soon as possible before creditors make procedures against him her to recover their money. During this time he cannot be pursued by the creditors and a bankruptcy court will sell any non-exempted assets in order to make payments to the creditors. In some way it is a way of protection for the bankrupt person because he can exempt assets like a family house from being sold. Declaring bankruptcy though creates other problems. It is much harder to get a credit card after bankruptcy as the trust of the creditors will have been reduced. Once a person get a discharge from bankruptcy (around five to seven years) he can resume a normal life and even start a business or get a loan from a bank after is bankruptcy. Filing for bankruptcy in Canada is run by the office of the superintendent of bankruptcy who ensures that it is done in a fair way both for the debtor and the creditor. One will certainly need bankruptcy advice before launching into this area.

On the left a storefront with clear glass and a Obama'08 poster. Glass that we can see through and glass that reflects what is outside. Glass that does not seem to be hiding anything. To the right we see a law office and a bankruptcy sign. The glass on the right is not transparent. It hides the the inside from outside. Only a small section gives us a hint of what is inside. Additionally we have two newspaper boxes one red, one blue. The press sides with the law and bankruptcy? Or are the boxes symbolic of the two political parties loitering as it were out side a law office that handles bankruptcy? Either way the kid's door is in the center. From this vantage point the "kids" can make a choice. To the right: Bankruptcy and the loitering news boxes and other obstacles. To the left clean lines, transparency and reflection. Just a few thoughts... What are yours?
