I have found that sometimes my trip to the local Napa auto parts stores or even the Ford auto parts department leaves me more confused then when I first walked in. There were Ford auto parts there, but it was all quite overwhelming. I mean do you really need to know if it is a four wheel drive automatic just to sell me the right size wipers, Really.
Luckily, while I was on the internet one day I found that I can order used auto parts, and even new auto parts and accessories, online. They even show pictures. In cases like me sometimes you don't know the exact technical name it is called, without the superior look you can get. I was looking for what I was told was a ECM for my truck and would have ordered it, However when I was actually looking at the part I found that for my year and make its called an ECU. That little picture saved me $600.00 and a weeks worth of waiting.
I guess the big surprise was that I can get discount auto parts for my year vehicle at a lower price without the hassle that sometimes comes from the auto parts stores. Don't take me wrong, sometimes you need to take that part down and put it on the counter at Advanced auto parts and say " I need one just like this." However, knowing that you have options is always nice, and being able to type in your part number, of course when you can read it that is, and be able to scroll through all the options you have makes you feel in control.
