Arkansas is a state situated in the southern part of the United States of America. A peek at a map of Arkansas reveals that the state has a total area of 53,179 square miles, making it the 29th largest state in the United States of America. The official language of this state is English, as it is in all of the other American states. The capital of this state is Little Rock. This Arkansas city is also the most populated one in the entire state. The University of Central Arkansas is also situated in this city. Arkansas State University houses a NCAA championship winning football team, the Indians. There is another university located in Fayetteville that houses the famous Arkansas Razorbacks.
In the year 2000, the state of Arkansas had a population of 2 673 400 people, making it the thirty-second most populated state in the United States of America.
The current governor of this state is Mike Beebe. The two current United States senators from this state are Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor.
