Perhaps one of the largest heroic feats of our time is what happened with an Air Transat plane on August 24, 2001, when Flight 236, traveling from Toronto to Lisbon, ran out of fuel and the captain decided to plan the aircraft to the airport at Lajes, in the Azores Islands, saving the entire crew: 306 people. This success made Air Transat line famous, in one hand by those who committed the technical error, and in the other hand because the incredible skill of the pilot. While Air Transat was not part of the movies, this spectacular event was in the episode "Fly on Empty" from the television series May Day, of National Geographic Channel.
