My husband and I totally support our children in all of their interests, and in a way I am very happy that my son is so passionate about things. But in another way I think his passion has become an obsession. For example right now he is obsessed with airplanes and the whole family has become a part of that obsession. Suddenly I have become very knowledgeable in airplanes. It all started when my son studied the history of the Wright brothers, now every activity we do has to be airplane related. I have even learned how to construct perfect paper airplanes. We have gone to airplane shows and built a model airplane. We had to scour the for sale ads in the newspaper for the perfect radio control airplane. The one advantage to all of this is that, I have found it is a great way to spend time with him. Plus I have learned a lot. I mean it's not every person that knows how to put a model airplane together or how to fly a radio control airplane. My son’s passion for airplanes has grown so much that he now wants to join the air force when he grows up. I kind of take that idea with a grain of salt, because I know that he will come across something else and I hope he will continue in this adventure and success on is dream to be pilot!
