The sensational rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, release their newest album entitled “Tonight” on the 27th of January, 2009. Fans of the band can expect much of the same style on it again. Perhaps the most popular song on it is “No You Girls” which is featured on the latest iPod commercials. The iPod commercials have generally produced mass publicity for artist (Fiest would be a good example). “No You Girls” is a very catchy song about how girls (and boys, which is later pointed out at the end of the song) can sometimes hurt “boy” in relationships without even knowing, or caring, the full extent of “hurt” they have caused.
The album has quite a few catchy songs with original sounding keyboard work. The twelve tracks are as follows; Ulysses (This is the roman name for Odysseus), Turn it On, No you Girls, Send him Away, Twilight Omens, Bite Hard, What she came for, Live Alone, Can’t Stop Feeling, Lucid Dreams, Dream again, and Katherine Kiss Me. Katherine Kiss me is actually a chilled out acoustic song that is somewhat of an offshoot of “No You Girls”.
The lyrics are quite catchy and clever as well, particularly that of the song “Twilight Omens”. “Twilight Omens” is about how one so very often feels regret over past relationships and seems to find “Omens” linked to the relationship in everything. The clever beginning goes “I wrote your name upon the back of my hand, slept upon it and I woke up with it backwards on my face, reading forwards from the mirror to my heart”. The album is another solid release that will undoubtedly draw more attention to this talented band.
